I’ve been successfully online teaching since mid March 2020 and the studio is gearing up for our third Online Coffee House Show July 2021! It’s amazing how quickly we’ve all adapted and been able to continue learning, creating and growing together! Thank you for taking this journey with me! My fingers are crossed that it will be safe enough to enjoy in person lessons again soon. More updates on that to come!
July 2020 was also a huge moment of positive growth and change for the studio! I decided to sell a portion of my school and shift from the Bridgeport studio with 5 rooms and 11 teachers to a private practice again. It was a huge adventure with 8 successful years running a full studio, while creating a safe space for us all to dream and share our love of music!
As I continued to shift in my own personal growth as an artist, I realized a private practice out of a home-based studio would better suit my personal needs and life path while enabling me to continue teaching! So, in December 2019, I began making arrangements to sell the Bridgeport studio if I found the right person or people to carry on in my footsteps.
In June 2020, I found those people! Their names are Gabe and Matt and they are the owners of Whole Tone Music. They are caring, warm and love teaching as much as I do! They are like-minded people with a kindred joyful spirit and a similar vision to inspire and support our community through music! When I met Gabe and Matt, I felt instantly comfortable and as we talked we all exchanged laughs and warm smiles realizing this was meant to be!
Whole Tone Music has been successfully running for the past 4 years. Their strong team of 5 have merged with our own amazing teachers to offer even more talented instructors at the Bridgeport location! Matt, Gabe and I worked closely as a team to make everything feel smooth and effortless for students and parents!
The students that I personally teach will continue to enjoy their same great lessons with me! I continue to own Russell Music Teaching Studios and will continue to teach my students in my new home studio, conveniently located near the Sunrise Centre.
I look forward to continuing the next chapter as we all continue to learn to love music!
